The Beginning of an Era

Hey guys, I have an update concerning our podcast. Me and the Capt1n got to record some of it last saturday, but with us being so busy with school, we haven't had the time to edit it together. We'll most likely be recording tomorrow or Saturday, with our third cast member, Tavion, and it'll be more of a full fledged podcast than our other recording. I'm not sure what we're going to do with that first recording quite yet, perhaps put it into the end of this week's podcast? Anyhow, we'll most likely have figured out everything by this weekend.. Once we get it all figured out, it'll be a much smoother ride. Anyways, look for the first podcast sometime this week!

Ally out!

P.S. What do you guys think of this text? hard to read? wicked awesome?

Why I Regret- Buying Portal 2

Hey guys, Andrew here.
I am here to explain something. Why I regret buying Portal 2.

I bought Portal 2 last Night. I was very excited and was looking forward to playing it over the next couple of weeks. Well I had some spare time so I started playing. It has now been about 5 hours and I am done. Yes really. I'm not giving up on the game I actually finished it. The game itself was great but after beating it... I'm left with an empty feeling. It didn't last long enough and now I have nothing to do. I wish I hadn't bought the game and got something else worth while but whatever.

Well that is all I have to say.

Why I prefer- RPGs

Hey guys, Andrew here. In today's article i want to talk about why I prefer to play RPGs over any other type of video game.
The first and single biggest reason I prefer RPGs would have to be.....story. I myself love a good story and, lets face it, you're not getting a very compelling story out of a FPS. Now, I know there are exceptions to this rule (such as Half-life) but it just isn't enough. Being a fictional writer myself, I love seeing how other people "roll out" their stories as compared to mine. My personal favorite story line is probably that of the Kingdom Hearts series. Primarily because its just awesome. I've played every game in the series and the story has never once gotten dull for me, even in Kingdom Hearts: Re:coded which was literally THE SAME STORY AS THE FIRST GAME, I felt interested. I wanted to know what happened next even though I already did!

But to move on, before this sounds more like a review for Kingdom Hearts, the next major reason RPGs stick out for me is... the music. If you ask anybody who knows me what I like to do, one of the things they will say is listen to music. Now before I talk about music, I want to explain my personal taste of music. Most people who know me will say my favorite music is hardcore scream-o; this is not true. My actual favorite music is orchestral style music. In that realm I prefer the Tokyo Philharmonic. After orchestral, I would choose in this order: J-Rock/pop/rap, then Scream-o, then rap. Now for music in video games. The first thing I notice in a video game isn't its graphics, isn't its play-style. The first thing I do is listen to the title music. My ABSOLUTE favorite title theme is "Dearly Beloved." I have spent literally hours listening to just this song and I find the games with the best music are the games I most enjoy therefore RPGs generally have the best music then they are the most enjoyable for me.

Finally, my last reason I prefer RPGs is the "bang for your buck," or in other words getting your money's worth. Generally when i buy a game I'm looking for a game that will last me a good large amount of time. When I buy a FPS, I don't get a very large amount of time of gameplay (the exception being MW2 which I have spent something like 14 days on). Case in point, CoD:BO. This game was TERRIBLE for playtime. The story took me about 4-6 hours to complete. On top of that, it wasn't even that good of a story. Once I got to multi-player I got more hours out of it, but still, I played B.O. over a span of about 2-3 months. I will most likely never play it again just because there isn't anything left for me to do. To give my most extreme example of a game worth my money... Pokemon Blue. Blue version was and is one of my favorites. I got the game awhile after it came out not thinking I would enjoy it very much. I. Was. Wrong. To date I have spent 200+ HOURS playing that game and not once did it feel boring or fruitless to play (I will talk more about it in the first episode of the podcast so for now, enough said).

So to conclude, I love RPGs. I know people disagree with me (William) but that is okay. They have their opinions and i have mine. So now it's your turn let us know what your favorite genre is and why in the comments below!

Meet the Cast- part 2

Hey guys, my name is Andrew. William and I are co-founders of the blog and soon-to-be podcast. I was born at the boat capital of the world, Ft. Lauderdale. I grew up there and moved Delray Beach when I was 6 or 7. William and I have been going to the same school but did not meet each other until the 8th grade. I am most definitely not a grammar Nazi [in fact William had to tell me how to spell definitely ;) ].

I am a console gamer at heart but i frequently play on both my mac and PC [by the way...MAC FTW!]. I specialize in all types of games [well rounded] but my true passion is RPGs. I'll explain why later... But to move on, my first gaming device was a PC, then a Gameboy Color, N64, Gameboy Advance SP, PS2, PSP, DS, Wii, and finally PS3. My favorite franchise is Kingdom Hearts with Final Fantasy in a close 2nd [SQUARE ENIX FTW!!]. But I frequent LoL [League of Legends], CoD MW2, and Tetris [ Ps3 version]. I was even ranked #1 globally for 2 days on Tetris!

Other than gaming I am BIG on anime and music. Also I LOVE quantum and theoretical physics and much much more expect to see a lot from me in the future!!

My PSN is mooo90
My LoL is mooo90
Tell me you are from the blog and lets play some time!

Meet the Cast- Part 1

Hey guys, I'm William, one of the guys on the soon-to-be-released Bit Theory Podcast. As I'm (arguably) the guy who came up with the whole thing, let me tell you about myself:

I was born in Boynton Beach, Florida around 16 years ago and I've lived in the same city for essentially my whole life. I play video games, I'm a grammar Nazi, I enjoy baseball, and I'm a Christian. I play mainly on my PS3, but enjoy a good PC game every now and then. My current obsession is Minecraft. Hopefully, you'll get to know a little bit more about me on the podcast. If you want to friend request me on PSN (when it's back up, of course), my ID is AllyOmega. Just tell me that you read the blog and I'll accept you as a friend.

Anyhow, expect our first podcast to be released sometime this weekend. We'll post a link to iTunes, and most likely a direct download as well. The other two members of the podcast will be posting their biographies soon, so look forward to those as well. Thanks for reading!
